Research
Funding Strategy
Typically, a preliminary search will return 100+ grants that match a project or program. Considering your organization’s needs and goals, we will research and identify those grants and filter them to the top 20-25 good-fit opportunities. After evaluating each grant for competitiveness, we create a strategic roadmap of the best-fit grants to pursue and how to prioritize those over the next 12-18 months.
Ongoing Grant Opportunity Monitoring*
We continuously monitor newly available grants. We will evaluate them and update your funding strategy over the course of 12 months following the initial completion of your funding strategy.
*Only available as an add-on to a Funding Strategy.
Research Fitness of Specific Grant(s)
Do contacts send you links to grants you should "check out," but you don't have time to do a “deep dive” to determine if you are eligible or have the resources to implement them? We can take your list, do the “deep dive,” and report back with recommendations.
Subject Matter Research
Sometimes, your organization doesn’t have all of the most up-to-date statistics regarding the need for your services in your geographic area or other demographic data needed to make the best case for your organization’s suitability for a grant award. SGS will identify where there are holes and will conduct research to provide solid citations for your proposal.
Writing & Editing
Complete Corporate, Foundation, Local, State, and Federal Proposals
Do you have a specific grant you want to apply for but don’t have the in-house resources to dedicate to it? SGS can determine eligibility and competitiveness, and handle the entire application process for you.
Custom Narrative for a Specific Grant Proposal
Are you preparing a specific grant proposal but feel unprepared to produce a quality narrative? Maybe you are confident in creating the budget and other sections of the proposal in-house. We can write a shining proposal that meets all of the RFP's requirements. (Includes two rounds of edits)
Custom Budget and Budget Narrative for a Specific Grant Proposal
Are you preparing a specific grant proposal but feel unprepared to produce a complete program or project budget and budget narrative? With an understanding of your program and some financial documentation, SGS can assemble the budget to include in your proposal. (Includes two rounds of edits)
Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
While a Letter of Inquiry is typically a short message submitted to a potential funder to gauge interest in your project or program, it can sometimes be more challenging than a full proposal because you must include very specific information in fewer words. SGS can boil it down to the essential, persuasive words to get you invited to submit a full application. (Includes two rounds of edits)
Proposal Review
Have you already written your proposal but want a professional to review it and offer edits to strengthen your request? Do you need someone to go through and confirm that every section is complete according to the instructions provided by the funder?
We know writing a proposal in a vacuum is hard. Sometimes, having a grant professional review the RFP and proposal you have written makes sense.
We are happy to review your proposal and offer feedback and the peace of mind that comes with knowing someone has confirmed that you have included everything the funder requested and provided it in the correct order and format.
Reporting
Reporting Required by Funders
Funders require a wide range of compliance reports following a grant award. Some require a single closeout report, and others require detailed monthly or quarterly reports. After you receive an award letter, SGS will record the reporting requirements and schedule. We will meet with your team members to confirm you are collecting the necessary data to produce accurate, complete, and timely reports to safeguard your relationship with the funder post-distribution.
